How this affects a run
The Bug-Type Superfan Mystery Encounter is the acquisition route for Golden Bug Net. Its effect concerns future wild encounter rolls: the wiki reports a ten-percent chance to replace a wild encounter with a rare Bug-type encounter. Trainer fights and bosses should not be treated as interchangeable with those ordinary rolls.
The exact ten-percent figure has one direct source in this review: the official wiki. Its item-pool and encounter pages are pages from the same publisher and count as one source, not independent confirmation. The encounter reward is also visible in the public implementation, but that does not by itself confirm every numerical detail of the replacement rule. No ordinary shop weight is supplied.
