How this affects a run
Calyrex starts in its Psychic/Grass form. Its base 500 total is different from the 680 total of its Rider forms, so compare the selected form before using a fusion result. Ice Rider needs the Icy Reins of Unity and Glastrier registered; Shadow Rider needs the Shadow Reins and Spectrier registered. These are form changes rather than an evolution chain.
The ordinary ability is Unnerve and the unlockable passive is Harvest. The common egg-move pool includes recovery through Recover and Sappy Seed, while Photon Geyser is the rare egg move. Those unlocks are distinct from the form item: catching Calyrex does not itself supply either set of Reins. See Necrozma for another species whose form items depend on a separate Dex registration.
