How this affects a run
Gastly evolves at level 25 into Haunter; Haunter then uses a Linking Cord to become Gengar. Trading between accounts is not required. This is separate from Gengar’s form changes: Mega Gengar needs Gengarite, and Gigantamax Gengar uses Max Mushrooms after the relevant form-item prerequisite.
The base Ghost/Poison form has 130 Special Attack and 110 Speed. Cursed Body is the ordinary ability, while Levitate is the unlockable passive. The passive can remove its usual Ground weakness, but that should not be assumed for an account that has not unlocked it. Form changes have their own stats and abilities, so this base-form table should not be copied into a Mega calculation.
