How this affects a run

Plains is an early route hub with Normal-type families such as Meowth, Sentret, Zigzagoon, and Bidoof. The complete encounter system separates time of day and rarity, so the summary species list should be used to find a family rather than calculate its chance.

Grassy Field, Metropolis, and Lake are listed as exits. Several longer loops can return to Plains, including a route through Grassy Field, Tall Grass, Forest, and Meadow. A loop describes one selectable sequence through connected biomes; it does not remove alternative exits such as Metropolis. Check the map choice at each branch rather than treating the sequence as an automatic itinerary.
