Shiny multipliers on the candy payout are ×5 for a common shiny, ×10 for a rare variant, and ×20 for an epic variant. Candies unlock the passive, buy two cost reductions (down to 0.5 or 0.25), and buy an egg of that species. Those eggs are shiny at 1/12 and hidden ability at 1/8. A cost reduction does not change the friendship threshold. The threshold uses the original cost.
Friendship itself moves in battle: +3 for a fight, +6 from a Rare Candy, and −5 if that Pokémon faints. A Soothe Bell adds 50%. Candy Jar’s rarity is a separate item-pool question; I do not have a printed rarity I trust on this page, so the cell stays empty.
Questions
How do I farm candies?
Catch, hatch, and beat bosses. Shinies multiply the payout. The passive and the cost cuts are the spends.
Does lowering the cost lower the friendship you need?
No. The wiki ties the threshold to the original starter cost.
