Shiny odds, Shiny Charm, and Luck
v1.12.2.3 · checked 2026-11-03
A wild shiny is 1/1024 before charms. One Shiny Charm makes it 1/256. Further charms double that rate: 1/128, 1/64, then 1/32.

Shiny variants are Common, Rare, and Epic. While that Pokémon is alive in the party they add 1, 2, or 3 Luck. Luck caps at SSS, 14 points. Luck raises the chance a post-battle item upgrades a tier, and it nudges wild rare tiers (the wiki’s standard weight moves from 512 toward 484, and boss from 64 toward 57).
Candy-egg shiny pity is a different machine. It starts climbing after 15 candy eggs without a shiny and hits 100% on the 21st. Ten shiny candy eggs without a new variant guarantee the next variant. I do not fold that pity into the wild 1/1024 line. Halloween 2026 is what introduced the candy-egg pity, and it is not a field pity.
Questions
What does Luck do?
It raises item-tier upgrade odds after battles and the rate of rarer wild tiers. It is not a damage stat.
Does the Shiny Charm change candy eggs?
The charm table above is the wild rate. Candy eggs use the 1/12 rate and their own pity.
