POKÉROGUE PLAY Starter notes for 2026
v1.12.2.3 · checked 2026-11-03
Our Classic starter recommendation is Bulbasaur, Fuecoco and Piplup: a Grass, Fire and Water core costing ten points in total. This is an editorial team suggestion based on complementary types. Individual unlocks, egg moves and preferred play style can change which starter fits your run.
Bulbasaur costs 3, Fuecoco 4 and Piplup 3 before candy reductions. The roles describe type coverage, not a promise to beat any boss. Passive names refer to the starter’s base form: evolution and alternate forms can change them. Consult the complete Pokédex for other families and the wave guide for team planning.
Questions
Is this an official tier ranking?
These are editorial recommendations. The linked official source provides costs, types and passives; it does not publish our preference order.
Can the three starters fit together?
Their unreduced costs are 3 + 4 + 3 = 10. Unlock requirements and your available starter pool still apply.
