Pick a primary and a sacrifice. You get both orders. The ability follows the sacrifice. The passive stays with the primary. Base stats are averaged and rounded up, following the official source code.

Pick two species we have public stat lines for. The table below stays readable with scripts off.

The calculator above the article uses the ten reviewed stat lines. With scripts off, that same table is still in the page, so you can average by hand. DNA Splicers is the rule page. This one is the arithmetic.
The preview keeps the primary’s first type, then takes the sacrifice’s second type when it differs. Otherwise it tries the sacrifice’s first type; if both match the primary’s first type, the primary’s original second type remains. Ability names are the listed base-form abilities. Form changes and alternate ability slots require their own choices.
Questions
Which way should I fuse?
Run both orders. The one that keeps the passive you want is the one where that species is the primary.
How are fused base stats rounded?
The official source uses Math.ceil((primary + sacrifice) / 2) for each base stat, so a half point rounds up. Both orders have the same base stats before other modifiers.
